Why Choose This Valve

Easy to maintain and available for different working conditions

The three-piece body is easy to take apart for maintenance. You can choose the material, seat, connection and operating method to suit your pipe and fluid.

Easier Maintenance

The middle section can be removed while the two pipe ends stay in place. This makes seat, ball and seal replacement easier.

Fire-Safe Option Available

A fire-safe version can be supplied for oil, gas and other flammable fluids when the order requires it.

Safer Stem Design

The stem is held inside the valve body to help prevent it from being pushed out. An anti-static design is also available for suitable systems.

Easy to Add an Actuator

The valve can be prepared for an air, electric or hydraulic actuator when it needs to be opened and closed remotely.

Product Specifications

Choose by size, pressure, material and connection

Send us the pipe size, working pressure, fluid, temperature, connection and material you need. We will check the suitable valve before quoting.

Soft Seat

Choose reinforced PTFE, PEEK, DEVLON or NYLON when you need tight shutoff and the seat material is suitable for the fluid.

Metal Seat

Choose a metal seat for higher temperatures, dirty fluids, particles or working conditions that can damage a soft seat.

Full Bore or Reduced Bore

Full bore gives a larger flow path. Reduced bore is more compact and can be used when a smaller internal opening is acceptable.

Connections and Operation

Available with socket-weld, butt-weld or NPT threaded ends. The valve can use a hand lever, locking device or actuator.

How to Choose

Choose the right seat and valve type

Choose the valve by the fluid, temperature, amount of particles, how often it will operate and how tightly it must close.

Soft-Seated

For clean liquids and gases

A soft seat is often used for clean liquids, gas and utility lines. It gives tight shutoff and normally needs less force to operate.

For higher temperature shutoff duties, compare the forged metal seated ball valve.

Metal-Seated

For heat, particles and harder service

A metal seat is better for high temperatures, particles and fluids that may wear or damage a soft seat.

For very low-temperature service, see the forged cryogenic ball valve range.

Other Valve Types

When a different valve design is needed

Some pipe systems need double isolation, a cryogenic design, a larger valve or another body type instead of this small three-piece valve.

For two shutoff points and one bleed point in a compact unit, see the DBB compact manifold. For forged ball valve options, see the soft seated series or the metal seated series.

Common Questions

Answers before you place an order

The valve must match the actual pressure, temperature, fluid and pipe requirements. Send us your datasheet when you are not sure.

What is the difference between full-bore and reduced-bore construction?

A full-bore valve has a larger opening and causes less flow restriction. A reduced-bore valve has a smaller opening and is often more compact. Use reduced bore only when the pipe design allows it.

How should I choose between soft-seat and metal-seat versions?

A soft seat is usually better for clean fluids and tight shutoff. A metal seat is better for higher heat, particles and harder working conditions. The fluid, temperature and required closing tightness must all be checked.

Which end connections are available on this valve series?

You can choose socket-weld, butt-weld or NPT threaded ends. Select the same connection type required by your pipe system.

Can the valve be supplied with an actuator?

Yes. The valve can be supplied for an air, electric or hydraulic actuator. Tell us the working pressure, how often it will operate, the available power or air supply, and the required fail position.

What documents can be prepared with the order?

The order can include certificates of conformity, EN 10204 3.1 material certificates, API 598 test reports, size checks and valve marking records. Tell us which documents you need before ordering.

What information should be included in the enquiry?

Please send the size, pressure class, fluid, temperature, body and internal materials, seat type, connection, quantity, actuator needs and required documents.
